How we verify landlords and homes.
Ownership documentsLandlords upload a Certificate of Occupancy, deed of assignment or allocation letter. We read every one ourselves.
Registry checkWe check the document details with the land registry before a listing can go live.
An inspection visitAn inspector visits the home, confirms it matches the listing and takes dated photos.
Identity matchThe landlord’s BVN, NIN and selfie must match the name on the ownership document.
How we verify tenants.
Who they areBVN, NIN and a live selfie, matched to each other.
Where they workEmployment confirmed with the employer, or 12 months of statements if self-employed.
What they earnIncome checked from bank statements, so the monthly payment stays affordable.
How they’ve borrowedA credit bureau check for defaults and other loans.
How we keep money safe.
Paid only to the right namePayouts go only to bank accounts that match the owner’s BVN.
A 48-hour hold on changesChanging a payout account takes 48 hours and is confirmed by SMS and email.
Two people, two keysLarge or sensitive actions by our staff need a second person to approve, each signing with a hardware security key.
Encrypted and privateData is encrypted in transit and at rest, and handled under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
Savings held by a bankRent vault savings and caution fees are held with a CBN-licensed partner bank, not in our own accounts.
Investing only when registeredThe rent pool opens to the public only after registration with the SEC Nigeria.
We never ask for your PIN or OTPNot by phone, SMS, email or WhatsApp. Anyone who asks isn’t us.
Pay only through the appNever pay rent, caution fees or “inspection fees” into a personal account.
